About The Kala-Car Journey: From Artist to Entrepreneur
This program is designed for the artist who wants to do it all. You will spend 12 weeks balancing creative songwriting and stage performance with the practical realities of the music industry, from photography to personal branding. We provide the structure and the mentorship, so you can leave the program ready to manage your own career as an independent musician.
Building the Modern Artist
The Kala-Car fellowship is a 12-week intensive designed to bridge the gap between passion and professional reality. We understand that being a musician today requires more than just talent; it requires a toolkit. Our curriculum focuses on three core pillars: artistry, production, and business.
What You Will Learn
- Songwriting & Lyricism: Go beyond basic chords. We work on structuring verses, developing melodies, and crafting lyrics that resonate. You will participate in brainstorming sessions where your personal experiences become the foundation for your compositions.
- Stage Presence & Performance: Overcoming stage fright is the first step. Through our workshops and real-world performance opportunities at events like corporate gatherings or community showcases, you will learn how to own the stage, handle microphone technique, and engage an audience.
- Visual Identity & Branding: Music needs a visual face today. You will receive hands-on training in photography and basic filmmaking, learning how to present yourself to the world and build your personal brand from the ground up.
The Process
This is a hybrid commitment, requiring four hours per week. We focus on 'haath ka kaam'—practical work. You aren't just reading theory; you are creating demos, building your Electronic Press Kit (EPK), and learning how to register your rights under Indian Copyright Law. By the end of the 12 weeks, you will have a portfolio of original work and the knowledge to navigate the industry independently. This fellowship is offered on a 100% scholarship basis to selected candidates, ensuring that your background does not dictate your potential. We are here to help you rise.
