My Makeup Process and Philosophy
Makeup is a conversation, not just a service. From luxury product choices to managing realistic expectations, here is how I build the perfect look for your special day.
Come with me on a typical workday. This video gives you a glimpse into a busy shoot day, from setting up my kit to working on multiple models with detailed rhinestone looks. It's hard work, but seeing the final result makes it all worth it.
Managing expectations is key to a great experience. Here, I talk about what not to expect from your makeup artist, from altering bone structure to working for free. This helps create a relationship built on mutual respect and understanding.
On the flip side, this is what you should always expect from a professional makeup artist. I discuss the importance of punctuality, hygiene, using high-end products, and offering consultations to ensure a smooth, high-quality service every time.
This client came to me with a reference picture for a dramatic eye look for her hooded eyes. This video shows the consultation and the final result, demonstrating how I adapt a desired look to suit a client's unique features.
A little about my journey. As a self-taught artist, I had to learn everything from scratch, including how to capture my work properly. This video is a reminder that persistence and a clear vision are what lead to success.
About My Process & Philosophy
Before I even pick up a brush, we sit down for a 15-minute consultation to align on your outfit, lighting, and the specific vibe of your shoot. This is where I determine the exact hydration prep your skin needs to achieve that signature lit-from-within glass skin without it looking greasy under studio lights.
My Approach to Makeup
Makeup is not just about covering skin. It is about making a story come alive. Whether you are a bride or a model on set, my approach is rooted in honesty and collaboration. I do not do cookie-cutter looks. Instead, I sync with your stylists and photographers to ensure the makeup complements the mood and the clothing.
What You Can Expect
When you sit in my chair, you are getting more than just application. You are getting:
- A Consultative Process: We define the aesthetic before the first drop of primer touches your skin.
- Hygiene as a Non-Negotiable: My kit is stocked with hospital-grade sanitizers and disposable applicators for lips and mascara. There is no jugaad (shortcuts) when it comes to your health.
- High-End Artistry: I rely exclusively on luxury international brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Hourglass to ensure your look is durable and heat-resistant.
Managing Expectations
I often get asked if I can alter bone structure or mimic a heavily filtered photo from Instagram. I am an artist, not a magician or dermatologist. My goal is to enhance your natural features, not disguise who you are. We work at the surface level to create harmony, balancing your vision with my professional expertise. By being transparent about what is achievable, we build a foundation of trust that results in a comfortable, stress-free experience from start to finish.
