Community Event and Flash Mob Choreography in Bangalore
Whether it’s a surprise flash mob at a mall or a massive community celebration, I make sure everyone finds their rhythm. Bringing people together to dance is what I do best.
A large group of women performing a synchronized piece for the Kannada Rajyotsava community celebration. Coordinating big groups to move as one is a challenge I absolutely love.
Even the youngest members of the community get their moment to shine. Choreographing for kids is all about making it fun and letting their natural energy come through on stage.
An aerial view of the Independence Day flash mob I choreographed for the NGO 'Being Social'. We took over the mall with volunteers and children from an orphanage for a patriotic performance.
Adults of all ages enjoying themselves on stage during the Rajyotsava event. My belief is that anyone can dance, and I design my choreography to be accessible and fun for everyone.
A dynamic duo of young performers owning the stage. It's amazing to see so much talent and confidence in the next generation of dancers.
Incorporating traditional props and storytelling into a community performance. This piece was a playful depiction of rural life for the Kannada Rajyotsava show.
A fun, expressive moment from one of the women's group performances. Capturing the right emotion and character is a key part of my choreography.
Another angle of our flash mob, showing the scale and the crowd that gathered. These public performances are a powerful way to spread a message and create a shared experience.
A candid shot from a workshop with kids for a social cause. There's nothing better than sharing the joy of dance and seeing these happy faces.
Receiving a certificate of appreciation with my partner Prerna for our work on the 'Being Social' flash mob. It's always rewarding to use dance for a good cause.
About Community Events & Flash Mobs
For flash mobs and large community events, the secret is in zonal rehearsals. I split groups into smaller batches so we can iron out the formations before bringing everyone together, ensuring the final reveal looks tight and synchronized even if we have limited practice time.
How We Make It Happen
Organizing a performance for a large group—whether it's 20 people or 75—is a different beast than studio classes. It requires clear communication and simple, high-impact moves that look great from every angle. When I coordinate these events, I handle the technical side so you don't have to stress about it.
- Site Planning: Before we start, I do a venue recce (for malls or banquets) to understand the entry points, crowd flow, and audio setup. Knowing where the audience will be helps me design formations that look good from the front and the sides.
- Audio Mixing: Music is everything. I put together custom audio tracks that build energy and signal exactly when to start, so the performance never feels flat.
- Simple, Fun Steps: I design choreography that works for everyone, from kids to seniors. The goal is to get people smiling and moving in sync, not to run a professional dance audition. If you can walk, you can dance.
Why Community Matters
I love working with schools, NGOs, and corporate teams because dance creates a shared language. Whether it is a patriotic piece for Independence Day or a lively routine for Kannada Rajyotsava, the focus is always on the energy of the group. If you have a wild idea for a surprise event in Bengaluru, let’s talk about how we can pull it off.
