Learn professional makeup secrets, from skin prep to contouring, with the exact practical techniques I use on my clients every day.

Skin prep is the most important step. I explain the CTM routine: Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing, and why it's essential for a flawless makeup application.

How to identify if you have dry skin. I share a simple test you can do at home to understand your skin type, which is the first step to choosing the right products.

Following up on the previous video, I recommend the right type of moisturizers for dry skin. I explain why a cream-based, hydrating moisturizer is crucial to prevent a cakey makeup finish.

Dewy or Matte makeup? I explain which finish to use for dry versus oily skin types to ensure the makeup looks fresh and lasts all day.

Three tips for a flawless makeup base. I cover the importance of concealing pigmentation, using a beauty blender, and applying products in a dabbing motion to avoid disturbing the layers underneath.

A quick demonstration on how to cover dark pigmentation. I show how to use an orange color corrector and then neutralize it with a skin-tone concealer for a seamless finish.

This is the baking technique. I explain how to use loose powder to set the under-eye area, which helps to create a sharp, defined look and control oil in humid weather.

Here, I demonstrate what transfer-proof makeup looks like. I use a setting spray like Recode's Grip Spray to lock the makeup in place, ensuring it doesn't budge, even in the summer.

To avoid a patchy liquid blush application, first put the product on a mixing palette. Then, use a brush to apply it for a beautifully blended and natural-looking flush.

To make your blush last longer, layer a powder blush over your cream or liquid blush. This sets the color in place and prevents it from fading throughout the day.

About Essential Makeup Techniques & Hacks

To keep makeup from shifting, stop dragging your products. Whether you are applying primer, foundation, or concealer, always use a dabbing motion. Dragging disrupts the base layers you have already prepped, leading to patchiness and lifting. This is a foundational technique I teach in my studio because it is the biggest difference between a pro-looking finish and a muddy one.

Technique is everything. In my eight years of experience working with over 800 brides, I have seen that even the best products fail if your application technique is wrong.

Master the Base

Before you start, skin prep is non-negotiable. I follow the CTM routine: Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing. Using a gel-based moisturizer for oily skin and a cream-based one for dry skin changes how your foundation sits. Never skip the moisturizer—it is the shield that protects your skin and keeps makeup smooth.

The Art of Correction and Contouring

When dealing with dark pigmentation, layering foundation is a mistake. Use an orange color corrector in a dabbing motion to neutralize, then apply your skin-tone concealer on top. For contouring, ditch the generic advice. If you have a round face, start contouring from the top of the ear and blend downwards to create a shadow. For the nose, use a specialized, small contour brush to draw straight lines, blending gently to create a slimmer look without looking harsh.

Making it Last

For humid weather or long events, the baking technique with loose powder is your best friend. It locks in the oil and keeps the T-zone matte. And for that transfer-proof finish? A good setting spray is essential.

These aren't just tips; these are the core skills that separate hobbyists from professionals. In my courses, we don't just watch; we practice these techniques until they become muscle memory. Whether you join my intensive 10-day diploma at my Noida studio or take my 5-day online pro course, we work on real skin, real issues, and real solutions.
