About Landscapes, Nature & Still Life
We use simple, hands-on techniques like straw blowing for branches and soft pastel blending for sunsets, which helps kids focus on texture rather than rigid forms. It is about how they see the world, not copying a picture exactly, so every child walks away with a piece that is truly their own.
Our approach at Lillibees is to let kids get messy and embrace the process. Whether working at our studios in Palm Meadows, Whitefield, or AECS Layout, children learn to break down complex scenes into shapes they can actually manage. We introduce them to varied mediums like watercolors for flowing water, oil pastels for vibrant sunsets, and charcoal for the light and shadow play found in still life.
We avoid the pressure of perfection. If a cherry blossom branch looks a bit wild because of our straw painting technique, that is the point. It is art, not a math exam. For our still-life sessions, we use everyday objects to teach scale and perspective, helping students understand how light hits a sphere or a cone. This builds observational skills that stick with them long after they leave the studio.
