From the streets of Salaam Bombay to modern high-budget web series, we don’t just rent gear—we execute the lighting vision. Here is a look at the projects where our crew’s design helped define the frame.

We are incredibly proud of our association with the film 'Santosh', selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. Our team worked through every technical challenge to provide the best lighting services and help bring this phenomenal piece of art to life.

It was a moment of immense joy when 'Last Film Show' (Chhello Show) was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars. We take pride in working on projects where true expertise is required, and this film is a testament to the power of a skilled and dedicated crew.

The Academy Award nominated 'Salaam Bombay!' was a milestone project for us. Working with director Mira Nair and cinematographer Sandi Sissel, our gaffer Mulchand Dedhia and the team helped shape the look of this iconic film, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration.

From pre production meetings to the final stream, we were involved in every step of this web series. Our crew, led by gaffer Rishee Umrania, utilized a range of modern LED fixtures like the Creamsource Vortex8 and Nanlux Evoke 1200B to support the cinematographer's vision on the Arri Alexa 35.

For the film 'Emergency', our lighting team, including the gaffer, best boy, and DMX operator, left no stone unturned. We worked closely with the director and cinematographer to execute the lighting plan and create mesmerizing visuals, starting with the Guwahati schedule.

Our journey with Excel Entertainment began two decades ago with 'Dil Chahta Hai'. The film posed significant lighting challenges due to limited inventories at the time, but our gaffer came up with innovative lighting plans to help create a masterpiece that is celebrated even today.

We are proud to have been associated with cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata's first major Hindi cinema project, 'Dhaakad'. Our gaffer and DMX operator led the Light and Grips team to deliver a fantastic result on this high action film.

For the Netflix series 'Ray', we once again partnered with cinematographer Swapnil Sonawane. Our team's trust and collaboration are key to delivering the nuanced and moody lighting that such a project demands.

We cherish the experience of shooting 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', which recently celebrated 10 years. Our lighting team had a great time collaborating with cinematographer Carlos Catalan to light this memorable film across its many locations.

This marks our third season working on the Amazon Prime series 'Inside Edge' with cinematographer Vivek Shah. Consistent collaboration allows our gaffer and crew to build on past successes and continue delivering high quality lighting for the show.

About Our Acclaimed Projects

You are looking at the end result of days of rigging, power distribution, and precision DMX programming. But the real work isn't just the final shot—it's how we got there. Whether it was rainproofing setups for a Mumbai monsoon or rigging 18k Fresnels for high-action sequences, we handle the logistics so the cinematographer can focus on the lens.

Lighting for the camera isn't about throwing lights at a set; it's about solving the specific visual puzzle the DoP is trying to crack. When we worked on Dil Chahta Hai two decades ago, our challenge was inventory limitations and getting creative with the gear we had. Fast forward to modern productions like Inside Edge or Emergency, and our focus shifts to complex wireless control, integrating Creamsource Vortex8 and Nanlux Evoke fixtures, and ensuring consistent output for long-schedule narrative shoots.

We don't just 'supply' gear. We bring the crew. When you hire us, you get a Chief Gaffer who breaks down scripts, a Best Boy who manages the truck inventory and safety protocols, and DMX operators who handle the heavy lifting of wireless lighting control. We’ve been on the ground from the era of 35mm film to today’s digital cinema workflows.

If your project is a standard setup, we might not be the right fit. We thrive on the tricky stuff—architectural rigging, extreme weatherproofing, and large-scale power distribution. If you need a team that knows how to execute a vision under pressure, let's talk about your rigging plan.

I’m Mulchand Dedhia, and my partner Hetal and I started this to change how lighting is done in India. We aren't a rental house that just hands over crates; we are a crew of veteran gaffers, best boys, and DMX experts who sweat the details to make sure the DoP’s frame looks exactly right.
