Master the art of henna with practical, hands-on guidance. From basic cone control to complex bridal motifs, here is how we build your skills.

This video shows the transformation from a simple grid outline to a fully shaded architectural pattern. This is a fundamental exercise in my beginner classes to teach line consistency and control.

An example of a "heavy startup" design for siders, beginning with the outline of a jharokha (ornate window) and jhumkha. This is how we plan a design on the arm.

The completed heavy startup design, now with peacocks, lotuses, and detailed shading. This shows the progression from a simple outline to a finished, intricate piece.

The basic outline of a jharokha and jhumkha motif. Mastering these core traditional elements is essential for any aspiring mehndi artist.

A demonstration of creating a swan mandala design on a practice sheet. The video shows the process from the initial sketch of the swans to filling in the surrounding floral elements.

The completed swan mandala, with rich, dark henna creating a beautiful contrast. This design combines figurative work with traditional mandala patterns.

The delicate outline of the swan mandala. Practicing the linework is the first step to ensuring a clean and elegant final design.

The simplest form of the swan design, focusing only on the outline of the two birds. This is a great starting point for beginners learning to draw figures.

A beautiful lotus design on the back of the hand. This shows the final result on skin, with bold, clean lines and delicate dot work, a style we practice extensively.

Another angle of the repeating lotus pattern, showing the cuff detail. In my classes, you'll learn how to create these patterns and ensure they flow naturally on the hand.

About The Learning Process: Drills & Practice

Every artist’s journey starts with the basics, and in my classes, we don't rush. Before we ever touch a hand, you will spend your initial sessions strictly on paper and laminated sheets. We focus entirely on mastering cone pressure and line consistency, whether you are drawing delicate lotus petals or complex architectural grids. It is the only way to build the muscle memory needed for clean, professional work, ensuring you never waste henna or feel nervous when you finally start working on real skin.
