Outdoor Portraits for Cats & Small Pups
Small pets have big personalities, and they deserve portraits that match. Whether it is your cat's royal stillness or your pup's playful zoomies, I capture it in the natural light of Bengaluru's quiet green spaces.
This majestic black Persian cat was a joy to photograph. Capturing its stunning fur and piercing eyes required a calm and patient approach, letting its royal personality shine through.
This video shows the raw shot and the final edited photo of a playful Shih Tzu puppy. It highlights how I bring out the best in photos of small, energetic dogs to capture their fun-loving spirit.
About Cats & Small Pups
Small pets need more time to get comfortable, and I don't believe in rushing that process. We will meet in a quiet park where they can explore, sniff, and settle in while I wait for that perfect, candid moment—whether it is a calm, regal pose or an unexpected burst of energy.
Working with cats and small breeds like Shih Tzus or Persians requires a different approach than my wildlife shoots. A Persian cat often needs a steady, calm environment to show its true nature, while a tiny, energetic pup needs room to run. I keep the gear minimal and the vibe relaxed. We do not use studios because artificial light just does not capture the soft fur textures or the soulfulness of your pet the way the natural Bengaluru sunlight does.
Once we have the shots, the real work starts. 'Ellaru photography skills antare' (everyone talks about photography skills), but I believe half the magic happens in the edit. I spend hours on the digital negatives, focusing on color grading and removing distracting leashes or collars so the focus stays entirely on your pet. If you are looking for that specific, clean look for your cat or small dog, let's talk about finding the right time and location for a shoot.
