Bring texture and warmth to your home with custom, handcrafted macrame. Whether you need a 7-foot curtain for a doorway or a statement wall hanging, I create pieces to fit your exact measurements and style.

This beautiful 4-foot by 3.5-foot macraweave wall hanging was a recent custom order. I wove in shades of purple and mustard as requested by the client to create this wavy, textured design. If you want a unique piece for your home, I'm just a message away.

Here is part two of my macrame curtain-making process. You can see the intricate diamond pattern taking shape. This panel is 7 feet long and 2 feet wide, and there's still more knotting and finishing to be done. It's a long process, but the result is worth it.

This was one of my biggest projects to date, a pair of 7-foot macrame curtains. Big projects come with challenges, from getting the measurements right to ensuring the design is perfect without a tutorial, but I love learning along the way.

A closer look at the texture and color details of the custom macraweave wall hanging. The wavy lines of purple and mustard thread create a beautiful, organic feel against the natural cotton cord.

Another detailed shot of the macraweave piece. You can see the different knotting techniques I used to create varied textures within the design. Every piece I make is one-of-a-kind.

Here is a tutorial for an easy macrame wall hanging. I used about 50 meters of 3-ply cotton cord to create this V-shaped design with square knots and diagonal half hitch knots. It’s an elegant piece for an entryway or workspace.

This is one of the first big wall hangings I ever made, and I'm still so proud of it. I created it as an anniversary gift for my husband and me, and it made me realize I could design my own macrame pieces. It holds four small pots and the word 'LOVE' is knotted into the top.

About this collection

When I design large wall hangings and curtains, there is no single tutorial to follow. These projects require precise math, and honestly, sometimes my cords fall short during the knotting process, but that is simply part of the work. I focus on getting the measurements and knot density just right so the final piece hangs perfectly in your specific space.

Designing a 7-foot curtain or a wide statement wall hanging is completely different from making smaller accessories. It involves heavy cotton cords, careful tension control, and enough floor space to let the pattern expand. When you commission a large piece, we start by looking at your wall or window dimensions. Do you need the piece to provide semi-privacy, separate a room, or just act as a focal point for your living space?

My Material Choices

I primarily use 3mm to 4mm cotton cord for these projects. This ensures durability, especially for curtains that need to hang straight without twisting or sagging over time. We can discuss your preferred knot density during our chat. Some people love a heavy, full look with popcorn or berry knots, while others prefer something airy that lets light pass through.

Why Customization Matters

Because every home has different ceiling heights and wall widths, standard sizes rarely work. I customize everything from the dowel width to the floor-pooling effect of the fringe. If you have a specific color palette, I can source or dye cords to match your interiors, though I always recommend natural cotton for that classic boho vibe.

Practical Care

Large hangings do accumulate dust over time. I suggest a light shake or gentle vacuuming using a soft brush attachment. Because I build these to last, they hold their shape well, but if you have pets or active kids, we should discuss mounting options for your curtain rods or wall hooks to ensure everything stays secure.

I am Deepika, the messy hands behind Knotanaffair. I have been knotting for over three years, and my favorite projects are the ones that take up floor space, like my 7-foot curtains. I really enjoy working with you to figure out the right pattern and color for your walls, rather than just selling you something off a shelf.
