It is never just about playing a pre-set list. I spend the entire night watching the dance floor, waiting for that split second to drop the beat or switch the vibe. Whether it is a slow build-up to a high-octane Bollywood drop or blending a Kannada classic with a fresh house beat, the goal is always to keep the crowd hooked until the lights go up.
The Science of the Dance Floor
A packed dance floor does not happen by accident. It is about reading the room, managing energy curves, and knowing exactly when to pivot. I use an open-format style, which means I am constantly switching between genres like Bollywood, Punjabi, EDM, and Techno to keep the momentum high.
Why the VDJ Experience Matters
I often incorporate my VDJ setup, where music is synced to live visuals on LED screens. When the visuals match the drop, the club energy shifts from a regular night to a proper show. It adds a layer of immersion that simple audio just cannot provide.
My Approach to Gigs
- Adaptability: I play to the crowd. If the room wants throwbacks, we do throwbacks. If they want high-tempo Bolly-Techno, I shift the set immediately.
- The KG Flips: My signature mashups are designed to surprise. I like mixing Kannada classics with modern house beats, creating a sound that you will not hear anywhere else.
- Mic Work: I believe a DJ should be a host. I use the mic to hype the crowd, keep the masti going, and build a connection that makes the event feel personal.
Whether it is a high-energy night at Sarjapur Social, a rooftop vibe at Gypsy Tower, or a private event, my process remains the same: focus on the people in front of me and make sure they leave exhausted from dancing.
