Peek behind the scenes of my studio—from the organic cones I make by hand to the hacks I use to get a deep, dark stain.

I believe in quality from the very start. That's why I prepare my own 100% organic henna cones to ensure safety and a beautiful, dark stain for all my clients.

A quick look at my fresh henna cones and the beautiful, intricate designs they help me create. The smooth consistency is key to fine line work.

A little 'jugaad' or hack for my fellow artists. Using a mini fan is a great way to speed up the drying process when you're practicing or short on time.

Practice is everything. Here's a glimpse into my practice session, where I work on new designs and refine my techniques on paper before applying them on a client.

Want a super dark mehndi stain? Aftercare is key. One of the best methods is taking clove steam on a heated pan to help the color develop deeply.

A fun take on a common situation. This video shows how I can transform a simple, existing design into a full, beautiful bridal mehndi if a client changes their mind.

A simple mandala design, perfect for anyone who loves henna. It's a classic and beautiful way to adorn your hands.

About Behind the Art: Practice & Pro Tips

A lot of people ask me how to get that super dark stain without using chemical cones. It’s actually simpler than you think—clove steam. After I apply the henna, I use a little 'jugaad' (hack) by heating cloves on a flat pan (tawa). Holding your hands over the warm steam helps the henna develop a much deeper, richer color naturally. No chemicals, just basic kitchen science that makes a huge difference.

My Organic Process

I don’t use store-bought cones because I want to ensure my clients' skin stays safe, especially for brides and moms-to-be. I make my own henna paste using triple-filtered Sojat powder and pure essential oils. It takes more time and effort, but that is the only way to guarantee a dark, reddish-brown stain that is safe for everyone.

Why Practice is Everything

You will often see me practicing on paper or books before I touch a client's hands. It is how I refine my 'Jaali' (mesh) work and ensure my lines stay consistent. Whether it is a Mandala design or heavy bridal portraits, that muscle memory is what makes the final result look effortless. If you want to grow as an artist, you have to get out of your comfort zone and keep sketching.

The 'Transformation' Approach

Sometimes clients come to me after getting a simple design done elsewhere because they feel it looks too 'empty.' I love these challenges. It is not about covering up; it is about adapting. I can take a small, basic motif and build it into a full, intricate bridal pattern right then and there. It is all about listening to what the client actually wanted and finding a creative way to get there.
