Custom Portrait Mehndi Designs
From divine deities to personal memories, I bring your story to life on your hands with intricate, organic henna portraits.
A special Janmashtami creation. This is a portrait of Baal Krishna, or little Krishna, complete with his peacock feather and pot of butter, drawn with my henna cone.
For the holy day of Ashadhi Beej, I created this intricate portrait of Lord Jagannath with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, as seen in the famous Puri temple.
This design was a journey of faith for me. I researched the Vithhal Wari pilgrimage to create this detailed piece showing Vithoba, Rukmini, and the 'Warkari' devotees.
A special design for the Vat Savitri festival. This mehndi tells the story of Savitri and Satyavan, featuring a portrait of the couple and the banyan tree, symbolizing devotion.
This is an example of a full-arm design featuring a portrait of Radha and Krishna. I often get requests for such divine themes, and I love bringing them to life.
A closer look at a bridal mehndi featuring Radha Krishna. The design is filled with cultural details, including peacock motifs and traditional patterns, perfect for a Krishna bhakt bride.
I also enjoy creating portraits of celebrities. Here is a practice piece of the actor Kartik Aaryan, which helps me hone my skills in capturing facial features with henna.
Practice makes perfect. Here I am recreating a portrait of the beautiful South Indian actress Sai Pallavi, focusing on getting the expression and details just right.
A fun birthday gift idea. I created this henna portrait for my friend, showing that mehndi can be a unique and personal present for any celebration.
Another portrait I created for a dear friend. Capturing someone's likeness in henna is a challenge I enjoy, and it makes for a very special and memorable piece of art.
About Your Story in Henna: Custom Portraits
Portrait mehndi requires significant patience and precise detailing, unlike standard mandala or Arabic patterns. Since I personally sketch every figure, whether it is a deity like Radha Krishna or a personal portrait, I need at least a week to study your reference and plan the placement. I only use my homemade organic henna for these pieces, which ensures the fine lines of the facial features remain sharp and crisp after the stain develops.
Creating a portrait in henna is like drawing on a canvas, but one that moves and has its own shape. When you ask for a portrait—be it a religious figure like Lord Jagannath, a historical event like the Vithhal Wari, or a loved one—I treat it as a dedicated art project.
My Approach to Your Story
I do not just copy a photo. I analyze the key features to ensure they translate well into henna. This is why I ask for high-quality references beforehand. For religious or cultural themes, I spend time researching the symbols so the final design carries the right meaning.
Why Organic Matters Here
Fine-line portrait work relies on stability. My homemade organic cones use triple-filtered Sojat powder and essential oils. This mixture gives you a smooth flow, which is non-negotiable when I am shading eyes or defining a smile. Because it is chemical-free, you do not have to worry about skin irritation, which is vital when the design is this intricate.
Planning Your Session
- Consultation: Send me your reference photos at least 10 days before your event.
- Placement: Portraits need space. They look best on the center of the palm, the back of the hand, or the forearm.
- Aftercare: Since portraits have more surface area, they require consistent care. I will provide my clove steam tips to help you get that deep, dark stain that lasts.
