When we start a textile project, I always suggest ordering a small fabric swatch before committing to the full yardage. Fabrics can react differently to lighting, especially the vibrant pinks or deep navies I love using, so it is best to see how the print sits in your specific room's natural light first. I am happy to help you coordinate these hero patterns with simpler, striped designs to balance the look.
My process for creating elegant textiles is all about storytelling through motifs. Whether it is the classical structures of my 'Elysian Echo' series or the soft, Mediterranean-inspired geometry of the 'Pavé Pop' collection, every pattern starts as a hand-drawn doodle. Clients often ask how to mix bold prints without overwhelming a room. My rule of thumb is to pair a high-density, narrative hero pattern with a coordinate. For instance, if you are using my tropical monkey print on cushions, I can design a matching striped or geometric motif for your curtains or table runners to create visual breathing room.
I work primarily with seamless repeat designs, meaning the pattern flows perfectly across any surface length. For home interiors, I deliver files at 300 DPI, ready for digital printing on upholstery, curtains, or wallpaper. Since I handle the composition myself, we can adjust the scale based on where the fabric will live, making it smaller for napkins or larger for wall hangings.
Because these are custom commissions, we include two rounds of revisions in the process. If you have a specific color palette in mind to match your living room or bedroom, I work directly with your hex codes or physical fabric swatches to ensure the colors translate perfectly. It is a collaborative back-and-forth until the print feels exactly right for your home.
