About Wildlife Photography
The Chase & The Story
I’m all about the chase and the story behind every shot. There’s nothing like the rush of a leopard sighting at Jhalana or catching a peacock mid-dance. But honestly, it’s not just about the big cats. I find myself drawn to the small stuff too - pigeons, butterflies, even the patterns on a viper’s scales. Every animal has a story, and I want to show that.
What I Love to Capture
My focus is on animals in their element, showing off their beauty and behavior. I go for:
- Up-close animal portraits where you can almost feel the texture of a leopard’s coat or lock eyes with a Buffy Fish Owl.
- Action moments - like a Grey-headed fish-eagle diving or a Black Drongo hitching a ride on a deer. These animal behavior photography shots are what keep me coming back.
- Macro wildlife shots, because sometimes the most interesting thing is just a tiny detail - like the veins on a butterfly’s wing.
My Playground (The Camera)
I like to experiment in the field. I use high-key and low-key lighting for mood, and in-camera double exposure to blend scenes and create something unexpected. I don’t rely much on editing - I try to get it right in the moment.
The Good, The Bad, and The Wild
Wildlife photography isn’t always perfect. Sometimes I wait hours and get nothing. Other days, the perfect shot just happens. You have to be patient, ready, and okay with a bit of wild unpredictability.

My Story
Hey, Ishaan here. I’m that guy who’ll chase leopards through dusty trails one day, then mess around with fairy lights and spiders on my Gurgaon terrace the next. Sometimes the best shot is a lucky encounter, sometimes it’s just waiting for hours for a bird that never shows. I love the thrill, but I also dig finding beauty in the usual stuff, like pigeons. For me, photography’s about patience, a bit of luck, and always being ready for a surprise.
