About One-Day Sunrise Treks
We leave Bangalore late at night, usually around 11:30 PM, to reach the base camp by 4:00 AM. This timing gives us enough of a head start to hike up in the dark and catch the sunrise above the clouds without rushing, and we always get you back into the city early enough to enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
If you are new to trekking, Skandagiri and Uttari Betta are the perfect places to start. The terrain at Uttari Betta is moderate and rewards you with a great view of the fort gate, while the Skandagiri climb is famous for its sea of clouds. I handle all the tricky parts, including the forest department permits which are often sold out, and the logistics of shared non-AC transport from HSR Layout, Marathahalli, and other key Bangalore points. You do not need to worry about booking cabs or figuring out route maps at 3:00 AM. On the return journey, we stop for a standard South Indian breakfast, which is included in the package. These trips are great for solo travellers, couples, or small groups of friends who just want to get outside. Since we run these every weekend, you have plenty of chances to join a batch. Just bring your comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and a bit of energy.
