Terrace Garden Drainage & Installation Services
A thriving terrace garden starts with what you cannot see. We focus on the engineering behind the greenery to ensure your roof stays dry and your plants stay healthy.
Our team installing modular drain mats on a large rooftop terrace. These mats, made from recycled polypropylene, create a crucial air gap for water to flow freely to drainage outlets.

The process of laying out and connecting the interlocking drain cell panels. This system is strong, lightweight, and provides excellent water discharge capacity for serious terrace gardening.
This image shows the scale of a rooftop project, with a large area covered in drainage cells before the final surface, like artificial grass, is installed.
Our crew meticulously fits the drain mats together, ensuring complete coverage. This attention to detail in the foundational stage is key to a long-lasting and problem-free rooftop landscape.
Here we are constructing a custom-shaped planter base on top of the drain cell layer. This method allows us to build unique garden designs directly onto a terrace.

About The Foundation: Drainage & Installation Process
The most common mistake in terrace gardening is skipping the drainage layer, which leads to waterlogging and building seepage. We use 30mm recycled polypropylene drain cells to create a clear air gap between your concrete slab and the soil. This setup allows excess water to flow directly to your outlets, preventing root rot and keeping the underlying structure safe from dampness.
When we build a garden on a roof or balcony, the visual aspect is only half the job. The invisible half—the engineering—is what determines if your garden will last for years or cause maintenance headaches in a few months. We have seen many DIY projects fail because they did not account for proper water runoff or root penetration.
Our installation process follows a strict sequence to protect your home:
- Structural Waterproofing: Before any soil is added, we apply polymer-based cementitious waterproofing. This is your building's first line of defense against leaks.
- Drain Cell Installation: We lay 30mm recycled polypropylene drain cells across the entire area. These create an air gap that allows water to move freely to the drain outlets instead of pooling.
- Geotextile Layer: We place 120-150 GSM geotextile fabric over the drain cells. This acts as a filter, allowing water to pass through while preventing soil particles and roots from clogging the drainage system.
- Planter Construction: We build the planter walls using durable red clay bricks or AAC blocks, specifically shaped to match your terrace layout.
We customize these layers based on your specific building's needs. Whether you are in a high-rise in Vashi or a bungalow in Bandra, we plan the load-bearing and water management to suit your property's unique quirks. By investing in these foundational steps, you ensure that your garden remains a green sanctuary rather than a structural risk.
