The Fabric Library: A Study in Texture and Print
Explore our collection of high-quality fabrics, weaves, and prints. From opulent velvets to natural linens, discover the right material to tell your home story.
The 'Narla' collection is a textured, vintage-inspired fabric that offers structured sophistication. Its durable weave makes it a perfect and contemporary option for heavy-use upholstery.
The 'Lombardi' collection features luxurious and decadent velvets with traditional patterns. This close-up shows the rich texture and how I mix stripes and florals for a layered, classic look on an ottoman.
Metallic jewel tones and a plush finish define the 'Newman' collection. These velvet fabrics are my go-to choice for creating a super luxe, glamorous, and comfortable space.
The 'Carafe' fabric is an opulent textile featuring abstract forms inspired by Indian Dokra metal casting. The gold embroidery on a cream base is perfect for creating decadent, art-inspired interiors.
This resplendent 'Sacred Tree' fabric showcases a beautiful contrast of gold motifs against a dark, plain background. It's a perfect example of a fabric that adds a touch of regal elegance.
The 'Peeling Paint' fabric has a rich, decadent texture and deep colour. I select fabrics like this to create a luxe and opulent aesthetic with an artistic, almost weathered, feel.
Timeless stripes and chequered patterns in the 'Salford' fabric collection are ideal for creating a classic, understated aesthetic. These are versatile enough for both commercial and residential spaces.
The 'Tiamo' fabric is a plain, piece-dyed sheer with a subtle puckered texture that creates a crinkled, relaxed look. It's a beautiful choice for soft, natural-feeling drapery.
The 'Shagufta' fabric features delicate floral patterns on a muted, textured background. The play of sunlight on the weave highlights its sublime and subtle beauty.
This collection of fabrics from 'Designers Guild' offers bright, vibrant colours in mesmerizing patterns. I encourage clients to mix and match these to create their own eclectic yet chic aesthetic.
About The Fabric Library: A Study in Texture & Print
We operate by appointment at our Residency Road studio because selecting the right fabric is a tactile process. Whether you need a high-performance velvet for a busy family room or a delicate sheer to soften a corner, we spend the time helping you feel the weight, drape, and durability of each swatch before you decide.
Choosing fabric is often done online, but we believe you cannot truly understand a material without seeing how it catches the light or how it sits on your hand. Our library is organized to help you compare textures side by side. We carry distinct ranges that span from heavy-duty upholstery materials meant to last for years to soft, breathable drapery fabrics that filter sunlight naturally.
The Importance of Texture
Texture is what separates a space that feels flat from one that feels alive. When you visit our studio, we guide you through:
- Performance vs. Aesthetics: We help you balance the need for stain-resistant, durable materials in high-traffic areas with the luxurious feel of natural fibers like silk or fine linen.
- Layering Materials: You will see how mixing a matte-finish linen with a metallic-thread embroidery changes the mood of a room.
- Colour Matching: Bring your current furniture swatches or paint samples to the studio. We use physical samples to match your tones, ensuring the final product works perfectly in your specific lighting conditions.
Why We Work by Appointment
Designing a room is not a quick decision. Our studio is not a retail store where you browse racks alone. We set aside dedicated time for your visit to focus solely on your requirements. This allows us to walk you through different fabric weights, weave patterns, and finishing options without any time pressure. It is the most effective way to ensure the material you choose fits the way you actually live in your home.
