About Behind the Cone: My Process & Passion
I never use leftover or pre-made cones from the market. I prepare my 5-filtered natural henna paste fresh for every single client, right before I head to your venue. This is the only way to guarantee that rich, deep maroon stain that develops in 24 to 48 hours. I also carry my own sealant, so you don't need to worry about anything but relaxing while I work.
From Sketch to Skin
Every custom mehendi design starts on paper. Before I touch a cone to your skin, I sketch the concept. Whether it is a bride and groom portrait, a skyline, or traditional Indian motifs like peacocks and lotus flowers, I want you to see the plan first. This allows us to adjust the layout, hide initials, or add meaningful dates before the henna touches your skin.
Quality Over Convenience
My 5-filtered organic powder is a non-negotiable part of my process. Many artists use pre-mixed, chemical-laden cones that give instant black or dark stains, but these can cause reactions and often contain synthetic dyes. My process involves:
- Fresh Paste: Mixed 24 to 48 hours before your event.
- Skin Safety: Suitable for sensitive skin and children.
- Deep Color: Achieving a mature, dark maroon stain naturally.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe in passing on the craft. When I teach my students in Borivali or through my online courses, I emphasize the same principles I use for my bridal clients: understanding your tools, maintaining hygiene, and respecting the art. It is a joy to see a student move from basics to confident application, and I bring that same patience to every bridal booking.
Logistics and Travel
Whether you are based in Mumbai or Nashik, or planning a destination wedding anywhere in India, I manage my own logistics. I come prepared with my kit, tools, and aftercare instructions so you can focus on your celebration. If you are enquiring about bookings, please share your event date and location early so I can confirm my availability for your big day.
