Another look at the Brown Bear plushie I made. The pattern was really easy to follow and the result is just so cute and accurate to the character.
This custom We Bare Bears amigurumi stands on its own, making it a great display piece for a shelf or desk.
A throwback to this hot air balloon I made, inspired by the BTS 'Young Forever' album cover. I free-handed this design and it was quite an experience figuring it all out!
About Custom Character Creations
When I work on custom characters, I usually use cotton-acrylic blends or soft velvet yarn depending on whether you want a display piece or something squishy. For safety, I use plastic eyes with locking backs, which makes them much more secure than sewn-on buttons for display. If you have a specific character in mind, let me know if you want them standing on their own or just perfect for snuggling.
Bringing a pop culture icon to life with yarn is one of my favorite challenges. Whether you want a Brown Bear for your desk or a replica of a specific album cover, I treat each project like a puzzle.
I start by looking at your reference images to get the colors and vibe right. If there is a pattern, I might tweak it to get the proportions just perfect. If not, I grab my yarn and freestyle it, which is how I made my BTS Young Forever balloon. It takes patience to get the details right, but that is the joy of handmade art.
I use hypoallergenic Poly-fil so they stay plump and squishy. If you are gifting these to kids under 3, just tell me, and I can embroider the eyes instead of using plastic safety ones.
