About Character Plushies
Every character I crochet is built from scratch, which means I don't use generic factory patterns. Whether you want a specific pop-culture hero or a mashup that doesn't officially exist, I will figure out the pattern engineering to bring your idea to life.
I live for the challenge of projects where there is no existing pattern. If you have a wild idea, a rough sketch, or a character that simply isn't available in stores, I am the one who will draft the stitches to make it real.
How my custom process works:
- Consultation: We start by looking at your reference images. I break down the character's key features to see what works best in yarn.
- Material Selection: Depending on the texture you want, I choose between premium velvet or cotton yarn. Velvet gives that super-soft, huggable feel, while cotton is perfect for detailed facial features or smaller accessories.
- Pattern Engineering: This is the most time-consuming part. I calculate the stitch counts to get the proportions right before the first loop is even pulled.
Because I hand-stitch everything in my Mumbai studio, these are not mass-produced toys. They have their own quirks and personalities. I love working on intricate details like mini outfits or specific expressions. Just a heads-up, custom work requires a bit of lead time because I am building it from the ground up, but the result is a one-of-a-kind buddy that you will not find anywhere else.
