Eco-Friendly Upcycled Dog Chew Toys

Because I use 100% cotton katrans (fabric scraps) for these toys, they are completely free from any hard plastics or synthetic toxins. I hand-stitch every single piece, meaning I can ensure the seams are tight and secure for your dog's teething and tugging sessions.

When I started Dirty Paws, I wanted to make sure my own dog had toys that were safe enough to chew on for hours, but I also didn't want to add more plastic waste to the world. That is why I started turning leftover fabric from my sewing projects into these durable, carrot-shaped chew toys.

Why Upcycled Cotton?

Most store-bought toys are made with synthetic rubber or hard plastic that can be harsh on a puppy's gums. My upcycled toys are soft, lightweight, and gentle, making them perfect for puppies who are just starting to teeth. Since they are made from cotton, they are breathable and don't trap the same smells that rubber toys often do after a few weeks.

The 'Katran' Difference

'Katran' means scraps, but in my workshop, it means potential. I collect high-quality cotton fabric scraps from all the other gear I make, like bandanas and collars. I clean, prep, and stuff them to create these toys. This means every toy helps reduce the textile waste from my business.

Care and Durability

These toys are designed for interactive play. While they are sturdy, they are fabric-based, so they might not survive a power-chewer who destroys everything they touch in minutes. However, for fetch, tug, and light chewing, they are a fantastic option. Plus, because they are 100% cotton, you can easily toss them in the washing machine if they get a little too slobbery during playtime. They come in a variety of seasonal prints, so you can pick one that matches your dog's current bandana or collar.
