I am Uma from Ganavi Makeup Studio. Here are some of my favorite transformations, blending traditional South Indian techniques with modern styles to keep you looking perfect all day.

This is my specialty, a traditional South Indian bridal braid. I focus on creating a thick, neat plait, meticulously decorated with classic gold Jadai Billai and topped with a fresh lotus and jasmine flowers, all stitched securely to last through the entire wedding day.

To get that perfect, voluminous bridal braid, I often use a hair extension called a Chouli. In this video, I demonstrate my specific technique for integrating the extension seamlessly into the natural hair, ensuring it looks completely natural and stays secure.

A complete bridal look featuring a classic hairstyle that complements the beautiful gold and red Kanjivaram saree. The hair is styled in a simple, elegant updo at the front with a traditional braid, allowing the statement jewelry and makeup to shine.

A classic floral bun, perfect for a Muhurtham or reception look. I've created a neat, voluminous bun and encircled it with fresh white jasmine (Mallige), ensuring the flowers are stitched in place so you can move freely without any worry.

This is a great example of a modern reception or sangeet look. The hair is styled with soft, loose waves for a glamorous feel that works beautifully with this sparkling lehenga, offering a comfortable yet chic option for any party.

Here is a real client transformation. She wanted a natural, settled look for her event, and you can see her happy reaction to the final result. My goal is always to listen to what you want and create a look that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful.

A small but important detail is securing the bridal dupatta. Instead of using pins that can slip, I show a useful technique of stitching a hair extension clip to the dupatta. This locks it securely into the hair, keeping it perfectly in place and damage-free.

About this collection

When it comes to bridal hair, I don't believe in just using pins that can slip. Whether it is a traditional floral braid or a modern updo, I use a needle-and-thread technique to stitch your fresh Mallige (jasmine) and heavy Jadai Billai directly onto the hair. This ensures your hairstyle stays secure and comfortable from your early morning rituals until the very end of your event.

People often ask me why their hair looks great for an hour but falls flat by the evening. The secret isn't just the final hairstyle; it is the prep work. My team and I prioritize root-crimping and blow-drying to build a solid base, especially for those with thinner hair.

If you are opting for a traditional South Indian bridal look, I treat the hair like a canvas, stitching your flowers and jewellery to create a structure that won't sag or move. For extensions, I use a seamless integration method so the added volume looks entirely natural, not bulky.

I offer over 25 different styles, from messy buns and mermaid braids for your reception to classic, intricate Muhurtham braids. Whether you need help with your dupatta locking or want a specific modern curl pattern, I ensure the process is transparent. I am always happy to explain the 'why' behind each technique—because when you understand the procedure, you feel more confident in your final look. My goal is to make sure your hair feels as good as it looks, without you having to worry about it throughout your special day.
