About Intricate Patterns & Backhand Designs
When we plan your backhand design, I always look at your ring placement first. If you have a statement engagement ring, we keep the center area a bit more open so the jewelry gets its moment to shine, rather than fighting with the henna for attention.
Backhand designs are different from palms; they need a balance of bold, open spaces and fine, intricate detailing to really pop. Whether you want a modern Arabic flow that moves diagonally across the wrist or a heavy traditional grid (jaal) that matches your bridal lehenga, the goal is flow.
I love working with elements like peacocks, lotus motifs, or even custom story elements—like a skyline or a special symbol—that sit comfortably on the back of the hand.
Why focus on the backhand?
It’s often the most photographed part of your hand during an event. I use a combination of different cone tips to create varying line thicknesses, which gives the design depth. If you're planning a look for an engagement or a Sangeet, we can even keep it minimal and elegant. For weddings, we go for that full, rich look.
I’m based in Kamothe, but I travel all over Mumbai to get these designs done. If you're worried about the stain, I always share my tips on after-care—sealing it with the right mix and keeping it on long enough is half the secret to that deep, dark color you see in my photos.
