This surgical technique is an excellent option for stable Vitiligo, where we transplant healthy pigment-producing cells to the affected areas to restore skin color.
This slide from one of my presentations outlines the primary goals of any surgical treatment for Vitiligo. My aim is to replace the lost melanocytes, achieve near-complete repigmentation with excellent color matching, and ensure there is no disfigurement of either the donor or recipient skin areas.

About My Surgical & Medical Approach
Before discussing surgery or advanced therapies, the first step is always mapping your vitiligo. We use Wood’s Lamp and digital dermoscopy to determine if your condition is currently active or stable. This distinction is non-negotiable, as it dictates whether we focus on medical management to stop the spread or move toward surgical options like melanocyte transplantation to restore pigment.
Understanding Your Path to Repigmentation
Vitiligo management is not about one-size-fits-all solutions. Because every patient's journey is different, I prioritize a diagnostic protocol that sets the foundation for everything that follows. We use VASI scoring and careful clinical assessment to establish a baseline, which allows us to track real progress rather than guessing.

Medical Management: For many, the first step is stabilizing the condition. I integrate the latest research, including JAK inhibitor therapy and targeted phototherapy (Excimer or Narrowband UVB), to manage pigment loss. These treatments are evidence-based, aimed at halting activity before we consider cosmetic goals.

Surgical Intervention: For stable patches where medical treatments are insufficient, surgery becomes a viable path. My focus is on the Non-cultured Epidermal Suspension (NCES) technique. It is a precise procedure where we transfer your own healthy melanocytes to the affected areas. My goal with NCES is always to achieve natural color matching while keeping the donor site minimal, ensuring the result looks and feels like your original skin.

Cosmetic Camouflage: Sometimes, the best approach is immediate color correction. For resistant areas like lips or fingertips, medical micropigmentation offers a way to blend skin tones seamlessly using safe, biocompatible pigments.
