Behind the scenes of my dermatology practice
A glimpse into the tools, the teaching, and the philosophy that drive my daily work in skin science.
Dermatology is love. It's about illuminating skin and, in doing so, illuminating lives. This dermascope, a tool for diagnosis, also represents my passion for the field.
Some of the best anti-aging procedures are available today. I always encourage open conversations, so be sure to speak to your dermatologist about the options that are right for you.
About Additional Media
The tool I am holding in the video is a dermascope, and it is arguably the most important piece of equipment in my clinic. Most people rely on guessing or mirror-based observation to treat their skin, which often leads to wasted money on trending products that do not work. I use this to see exactly what is happening beneath the surface, allowing for a precise diagnosis before we start any treatment.
Dermatology is often misunderstood as just applying creams or following whatever is popular on social media. My work, however, is grounded in objective analysis. Whether I am teaching a fellow doctor the intricacies of facial anatomy or performing a trichoscopy scan for a hair loss patient, the focus remains on the root cause.
Why Diagnosis Matters
Illandra (otherwise), we are just treating symptoms. Using a dermascope allows me to differentiate between benign pigmentation and signs that require medical intervention. It changes the conversation from 'what product should I use?' to 'what does my skin actually need?'. This is why I advocate against over-scrubbing and aggressive home peels. Indian skin has its own unique needs, and it needs a plan that respects its physiology.
Teaching as a Practice
My passion for teaching colleagues is an extension of my clinical work. By mentoring other doctors, I aim to raise the standard of care in our field. When you see me in these snapshots, whether at a conference or in my Koramangala clinic, know that the approach is consistent. I am constantly updating protocols based on the latest evidence, from PDRN to exosome therapy, ensuring that you receive care that is current and effective, not just trendy.
