When I put together a 'Proud & Queer' lineup, it is not just about booking talent. I look for performers who share the same commitment to our community, mixing drag kings like Spicy Delight with experimental acts to make sure the energy stays fresh, inclusive, and unmistakably ours.
These parties are where music, activism, and identity meet. My goal is to hold space for the queer diaspora, creating an environment where we can explore the intersection of our desi roots and our queer lives. I have spent years building these platforms, ensuring that performers like Malai, Saffron Naach, and DJ Cardamami have a stage that respects their art and their stories.
I manage the flow of these events so that they are more than just a dance floor. I design them to be immersive. Whether it is a 'Proud Edition' of Bollywood Disco at The Sultan Room or a beach party on Fire Island, the vibe is intentional.
