This is where it all started. Basement Bhangra is more than a party; it's a movement that brings the sounds of Punjab to NYC. I produce these large-scale, free outdoor festivals in my home borough of Queens, featuring a mix of Bhangra legends, rising stars, dholis, and dancers for an unforgettable community celebration.

I curate these nights to celebrate the golden era of Bollywood with a modern twist. Proud & Queer: Celebrating Our Community
My events are built on creating inclusive and joyful spaces for the queer and South Asian communities. From the annual "Bollywood Disco: Proud Edition" to collaborations with drag artists and queer collectives, I produce events that celebrate radical joy and chosen family. These parties are a space to be loud, be proud, and dance freely.
Festival & Community Curation
I partner with cultural institutions like Lincoln Center and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, as well as grassroots community groups, to produce unique events. Whether it's a Diwali festival, a Holi celebration by the water, or a Chinatown block party, I bring my curation skills to create memorable experiences that bring people together.

Beyond the dance floor, I'm building a legacy. This includes official merchandise so you can represent the movement, and the preservation of my work, like the DJ Rekha Collection at the Fales Library, which documents over twenty years of South Asian diasporic nightlife.
