The Technical Detail
I run a 3-deck setup, which allows me to layer stems of tracks live, rather than just crossfading between MP3s. This creates that live remix feel where I can manipulate the energy on the fly based on how the room is reacting. If the crowd is feeling a certain mood, I can lengthen a build-up or strip back the drums to let the vocals breathe. It is about reading the room and rewriting the setlist in real-time.
