When I set up for a gig, I arrive 45 to 60 minutes early to handle sound checks. This is not just about plugging in my Pioneer controller. It is about ensuring the music transitions smoothly between my Bolly-Tech mashups and the crowd energy so the party never drops a beat.
My approach is simple. No music, no life. Whether I am spinning at a packed club like Escobar or managing the sound for a family sangeet, I am not just a guy behind a laptop. I am interacting with the crowd, hyping them up on the mic, and reading the room to see what gets them moving.
Why my sets work
- Genre versatility: I mix Bolly-Tech, Punjabi, Retro, and Commercial Pop. If the crowd needs a throwback, I drop old-school classics. If they want to dance, I move into high-energy EDM or Jive sets.
- Technical prep: I bring my own Pioneer DJ console and laptop for every event. If you need a more intense sound, I have experience collaborating with live Dhol players to turn a regular baraat into an absolute scene.
- Professionalism: I show up in formal attire for weddings so I look the part, but I keep the vibe fun and personal. I always ask for a 'Must Play' list of 15 to 20 songs before the event to make sure your favorites are covered.
