About The MC & The Crowd
When you hire me, you are not getting a DJ who hides behind the laptop. I use my Shure microphone to guide the flow of the event, from dropping the beat during high-intensity moments to getting everyone to raise their hands with 'Sabke haath upar!' (Everyone, hands up!).
Most DJs are fine with just playing tracks, but I believe the music is only half the battle. If you want a dance floor that stays packed, you need someone who can read the crowd and shift the energy when the vibe dips. That is why I spend as much time on the mic as I do behind the Pioneer console. Whether it is hyping up a corporate team, managing the energy at a sangeet, or keeping the party going at a private birthday gig in Mumbai or Pune, I focus on interaction.
My approach is to mix live Bollywood and Punjabi tracks with popular EDM and commercial hits, ensuring there is a surprise for everyone. I don't just stand there; I look for moments to engage. If it is a slower, emotional part of the night, I lower the energy intentionally. When it is time for the peak, I bring the noise, often collaborating with percussionists or dhol players for that raw, live feel. I am a Palmexpo Champion, and I bring that technical discipline to every set. I use industry-standard gear like the CDJ 2000NXS2 to ensure the transitions are tight and the sound is crisp, so the only thing you need to worry about is dancing.
