About Timeless Black & White
I do not just desaturate your photos to make them black and white. For these specific sessions, I adjust my studio lighting setup before we even click the shutter, creating deep, dramatic contrasts that highlight texture and form. Why Black and White?
Color is wonderful, but black and white photography strips away the noise. It forces us to look at the shape of a bump, the curl of a newborn’s fingers, or the way a sibling rests their head on mom. It is about the feeling, not the outfit.
My Process
When you choose this style, I adjust my studio lighting to prioritize shadows and textures. We focus on high-contrast, artistic poses rather than traditional bright-and-airy shots. This works particularly well for maternity silhouettes where the curve of the body is the main focus, and for close-up portraits where we want to highlight raw expressions.
