Why Black and White?

Color is wonderful, but black and white photography strips away the noise. It forces us to look at the shape of a bump, the curl of a newborn’s fingers, or the way a sibling rests their head on mom. It is about the feeling, not the outfit.

My Process

When you choose this style, I adjust my studio lighting to prioritize shadows and textures. We focus on high-contrast, artistic poses rather than traditional bright-and-airy shots. This works particularly well for maternity silhouettes where the curve of the body is the main focus, and for close-up portraits where we want to highlight raw expressions.
