About Behind The Weaves & Styling Tips
When choosing sarees, the fabric weight matters more than most realize. I exclusively stock Mysore Crepe that meets the 100 GSM standard because it provides that natural, opaque fall that sits beautifully without needing heavy starch or stiff finishes.
Understanding the Saree Journey
My process of selecting sarees is simple. I look for pure fabrics and real craftsmanship. Whether it is a Mysore Crepe, Kanchipuram, or a piece of hand-painted Pen Kalamkari, I make sure the quality is authentic. You will find that my Mysore Crepe sarees are never thin or flimsy. That 100 GSM thickness ensures they are heavy, buttery, and hold their shape, which is why they have become a signature in my collection.
Why I Pick What I Pick
I personally connect with artisans across India to bring these pieces to Rajarajeshwari Nagar. You will see techniques here that are getting rare, like the hand-knotted Bandhej or traditional Lambani embroidery. Because these are handmade, no two pieces are identical. When I share a new arrival, remember that these are often limited. If you see a pattern or a specific Gandaberunda motif you like, it is best to act quickly.
Care & Styling Tips
I always tell my clients that a saree is only as good as its finish. For my Banarasi and Bandhej collections, I recommend a roll press to maintain the softness and the fall of the fabric. Avoid heavy starching, as it ruins the natural fluidity of pure silk. If you are picking a saree for a specific event, let me know, and I can suggest the right blouse pairing or how to manage the pleats for a cleaner look.
Visiting the Store
While I share many updates here and on my reels, nothing beats seeing the colors in person. If you are in Bangalore, please visit my studio in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. You can feel the fabric and see the exact shade, which can sometimes look different on a screen. If you cannot visit, just screenshot the piece you love and send it over.
