ISS Patch Test for Eczema Diagnosis
Tired of recurring eczema flare-ups? We use the Indian Standard Series (ISS) patch test to scientifically identify your specific skin triggers, moving past guesswork to a clear, actionable plan.
If you are struggling with stubborn rashes or eczema, the cause could be an allergic reaction to something you encounter daily. I use the ISS Patch Test, a precise diagnostic tool, to identify the specific allergens triggering your skin, moving beyond guesswork to find real answers.
Persistent dry, itchy, and inflamed skin on your hands or body is often more than just simple dryness. It could be hand dermatitis or eczema, a condition that requires a proper diagnosis to manage effectively and prevent future flare-ups.
With over a decade of experience in dermatology, my focus is on blending trusted medical practices with the latest technology. My work, featured in publications like Grazia and the Indian Express, is dedicated to helping you feel confident in your own skin.
I am often asked why a consultation is necessary before booking a treatment. A thorough consultation is the most critical step. It allows me to accurately diagnose your condition and create a personalized, safe, and effective treatment plan just for you.
Your journey to healthy skin starts with a conversation and ends with confidence. This short video shows the process from an initial consultation, through a gentle and precise laser treatment, to the satisfying feeling of well-cared-for skin.
The ISS patch test is a straightforward and effective method for diagnosing contact allergies. By applying patches with common allergens to your back for 48 hours, I can assess your skin’s reaction and pinpoint the exact cause of your irritation.
My goal is not to promise 'perfect' skin, but to help you achieve healthy, well-looked-after skin. True confidence comes from understanding and caring for your skin's needs, leading to a better quality of life.
About this collection
The ISS patch test is a three-visit protocol, not a one-time thing. On your first visit, we apply the test panels to your back, which stay on for 48 hours. We then remove them to monitor your skin’s reaction over the next 48 to 72 hours, which is exactly how we pinpoint your specific allergens like nickel, cobalt, or fragrance mixes.
Why Your Skin Keeps Reacting
Persistent eczema or dermatitis often stems from contact allergies that are easy to miss. You might be using the right moisturizer, but if you are unknowingly touching a trigger—like specific preservatives in your soap or metal components in your watch—the inflammation will not stop.
Our Diagnostic Process
We prioritize accuracy through the Indian Standard Series (ISS) and Extended Panels.
- Initial Consult: I assess your history to decide if we need the standard 20-30 allergen panel or the extended 40-50 allergen test.
- The 3-Visit Protocol: This is non-negotiable for precision. Visit 1 is for patch application. Visit 2 (at 48 hours) is for removal and the first read. Visit 3 (at 72–96 hours) provides the delayed reading necessary to confirm true allergic responses versus simple irritation.
Beyond the Test
Finding the trigger is only half the battle. Once we have the diagnostic report, we walk you through a safe list—identifying specific chemicals to avoid in your daily life, from footwear to personal care products. This is not about generic advice; it is about understanding your skin’s personal 'do not touch' list so you can finally manage those stubborn patches.
Note: We do not perform patch testing without an initial dermatological consultation. Illa (no) exceptions—we need to ensure this is the right diagnostic tool for your specific symptoms before we start.
