Ikshana: A Bharatanatyam Perspective on Climate Change

This large-scale dance drama, presented by HCL Concerts, explores the climate crisis through the lens of Bharatanatyam. The production examines the issue from scientific, humanitarian, and psychological viewpoints, asking what we can do to care for our planet.

The Creation of a Goddess: A Navratri Photo Story

This conceptual photo series explores the creation of the Durga idol in Kumartuli, drawing parallels between the making of a goddess from clay and the shaping of female identity. It's a visual inquiry into divinity, femininity, and the idea that the eternal takes an earthen form, 'Chinamayi esheche Mrinmayee rupe'.

Solo Recitals: The Classical Repertoire

My solo performances are rooted in the traditional Bharatanatyam margam, exploring classic items like Varnam, Jathiswaram, and Thillana. These recitals have been presented at prestigious venues across India, from the Delhi International Arts Festival to the Brahma Gana Sabha during the Chennai Margazhi season.

Sonar Bangla: Celebrating Bengal's River Culture

This production delves into the rich culture of Bengal, centered around its life-giving rivers like the Ganga and Padma. Through 'Bhatiyali' or boatman songs and poetry, we explore themes of shared heritage that transcend political boundaries.

Pehchaan: An Exploration of Art & Identity

'Pehchaan' (Identity) is a solo work that grapples with the relationship between the dancer and the artist. It questions how much of my personal identity I carry onto the stage and how I reconcile the person I am with the timeless 'Nayika' or heroine I portray in dance.

Collaborations & Experimental Works

I love to push the boundaries of Bharatanatyam by collaborating with artists from different disciplines and exploring unconventional themes. This includes working with Western classical musicians, creating dance theatre based on European literature, and contributing to global music projects.

Artistic Portraits & Thematic Photoshoots

Beyond the stage, I use photoshoots to explore concepts and emotions, from the playfulness of Holi to the philosophical depths of Tagore's poetry. These images are a space for personal expression and a visual extension of the stories I tell through dance.

Behind the Scenes: Process & Pedagogy

A performance is the culmination of countless hours of practice, research, and collaboration. This is a glimpse into my process, from studio rehearsals and international tours to sharing the joy of dance through SPIC MACAY workshops.
