About The 'Navataar' Artistic Series
This isn't your standard bridal glam. 'Navataar' started as a creative collaboration to push my boundaries beyond the wedding chair. When we shot these, I wasn't just thinking about long-wear foundation or sweat-proof base; I was thinking about texture, storytelling, and how to use makeup to build a character. If you have a concept shoot, a portfolio requirement, or an artistic vision that needs a technical hand, this is the kind of work I live for.
Navataar is a series close to my heart, created alongside Bhargavi Vikyathi to explore the nine forms of Devi. We wanted to move past the traditional bridal look and dive into mythology, light, and emotion.
Take the 'Belaku' look with Meghana Raj; that was all about the interplay of deep shadows and a single flame, capturing the essence of light destroying darkness. Or the 'Viraha' shoot with Manvita Kamath, where we played with smoke and mood to tell a story of longing.
This series proves that my tools aren't limited to weddings. Whether you are an actor needing a character look for a photoshoot, a fashion designer looking for a specific aesthetic, or an individual wanting to recreate a mythological or conceptual look, I bring the same technical rigour I use for my 4000+ brides.
We focus on:
- Texture Play: Moving away from flat, standard coverage to skin-like, editorial textures that look great under harsh studio lighting.
- Theatrical Styling: Working with heavy jewelry and intricate hair padding that actually stays in place, even with dramatic head movements.
- Collaborative Design: I don't just apply makeup; I listen to the concept. If you have a mood board, bring it. I love working with photographers and designers to get that exact vibe you have been dreaming about.
