The Artist's Corner: Behind the Scenes with Dashmeet
A glimpse into my process and the quiet moments that inspire my work. I believe creativity is fueled by reflection and an appreciation for the simple beauty around us.
A self-portrait taken in a field of tulips, a moment of quiet contemplation. For me, connecting with nature and finding time for stillness is just as important as the time I spend drawing; it is where many of my ideas begin.
About The Artist's Corner
When I prepare an illustration for print, I strictly use 250 to 300 GSM acid-free textured paper. This is a deliberate choice because, unlike a digital screen, this heavy paper allows the fade-resistant pigment inks to settle in a way that feels like a traditional painting you can physically touch and hold.
Art should feel like it has a pulse. When I moved from traditional sketching to digital mediums, I wanted to ensure I didn't lose that warmth. I found that by intentionally slowing down—taking time to read, observe the quiet of a Delhi afternoon, or reflect on Gurbani—I could infuse my work with something more than just pixels.
Every piece in this collection started as a thought in a quiet corner. Whether I am working on a generative Sikh art project or a simple note card, my process remains the same. I sit with the idea, refine the strokes in Procreate, and ensure the final output retains a human touch.
If you are looking for art that speaks to heritage or captures a personal, everyday moment, my studio is always open. From A3 fine art prints to personalized calendars, everything I create is intended to be a piece of my day that you can keep. I handle every print with care, wrapping it in butter paper and shipping it in a rigid tube to ensure it reaches you exactly as it left my desk.
