About Portraits in Motion
My process starts with a blank screen on Procreate. I spend time layering sketches to capture your expressions, using a 'boiling line' technique that makes the final loop feel alive. Whether it is a side profile or a candid smile, I focus on the small details that make a person feel real.
What you see in my portraits is a mix of digital tech and traditional art. I start every piece by sketching the core character, often focusing on how the eyes move or how a beard is styled. For these animations, I use a frame-by-frame approach. This keeps the lines looking hand-drawn and organic, rather than perfectly static.
If you choose a sketch-style portrait, you get a 15-second loop that feels raw and immediate. It is perfect if you want something that captures a specific feeling or a quiet moment. For more detail, I build up layers, adding color or movement like falling leaves or wind.
I am based in Delhi and work primarily online. Once you send me a reference photo, we discuss the vibe you are looking for. I usually need 3 to 4 days to finish a sketch-style piece, and slightly longer for full-color work. You get a high-definition MP4 file that is ready for you to share or save as a digital keepsake. Everything I draw, I approach with 'Shukar' (gratitude), hoping that the final piece feels like it holds a part of your own story.
