Royal & Traditional Wedding Decor
Bring that grand maharaja vibe to your big day. From rich red and gold setups to intricate jharokha floral walls, I design stages that make a statement.
A grand hallway with a traditional touch. The ceiling is adorned with hanging greenery and printed fabric panels, while chandeliers cast a royal glow on the patterned carpet.
An elegant indoor mandap setup. The peach and gold fabric draping, combined with hanging floral arrangements, creates a sophisticated and traditional look.
A closer view of the indoor mandap entrance. The sequined peach drapes and hanging white flowers add a touch of glamour to the traditional structure.
A beautiful floral wall with traditional 'jharokha' style niches. This design element adds a touch of Rajasthani royalty to any event.
A wide view of the 'jharokha' floral wall. The rich magenta carpet and the intricate details of the backdrop create a luxurious and traditional atmosphere.
A traditional welcome setup for a 'Griha Pravesh' or wedding. The brass lamps and floral rangoli create a warm and auspicious ambiance.
A personalized welcome area for a 'Kuan Pujan' ceremony. The traditional decor with yellow drapes and a large brass vase is perfect for this auspicious occasion.
About this collection
When I design these royal sets, the focus is on the textures—using deep velvet fabrics, heavy floral arrangements, and precise jharokha structures that photograph beautifully. I prefer a calculated mix of fresh seasonal blooms for the front-facing areas and high-quality artificial bases for the ceiling work. This ensures the stage stays lush and vibrant from the first guest arrival until the final varmala, without the wilting you get from an all-fresh setup.
Defining the Royal Aesthetic
For a traditional wedding, the goal is 'grandeur with soul.' It isn't just about throwing gold everywhere; it’s about balancing the weight of the decor. We use heavy trussing for stability, which is then completely masked by premium fabric draping—usually in classic Royal Red or deep gold.
The Elements That Make It Work
- Jharokha Backdrops: These are a signature element of my traditional designs. They provide that architectural, 'palace-like' depth that looks stunning in couple portraits.
- Lighting Layers: We don't just use one type of light. I combine warm PAR cans for that 'mahal' (palace) glow with intelligent moving heads. This allows us to shift the mood—bright for the ceremony, moody and cinematic for the couple's entry.
- Floral Depth: I mix fresh roses and tuberoses for the scent and front-row beauty, with artificial hydrangeas or wisteria for the overhead canopy. This keeps the overhead structure safe while giving you that full, lush canopy look.
Venue Considerations
Since I work across various venues in Delhi NCR, I always account for ceiling height. If the venue has low ceilings, I switch the focus to vertical pillars and floor-based elements to maintain the royal feel without making the space feel cramped. If you have an outdoor lawn, we can go bigger with a 30ft wide stage. Let’s look at your venue and figure out which setup fits best.
