Devotional Pencil and Charcoal Sketches
My way of connecting with the divine through graphite and paper. Every stroke is a prayer. Radhe Radhe.
A serene portrait of an adolescent Lord Krishna playing his flute. This is a complete black and white pencil sketch, where I used careful shading to create a calm and meditative mood, focusing on his gentle expression and the details of his crown.
About Additional Sketches
I use 200+ GSM acid-free, fine-grain artist paper for these pieces, so the shading stays deep and the paper won't yellow over time. Every drawing is finished with a professional matte fixative spray, meaning you do not have to worry about the charcoal smudging or graphite shine once it reaches your home.
Bringing Divine Energy to Paper
For me, drawing is not just work; it is a way to stay connected. Whether it is the soft smile of Bal Krishna or the powerful gaze of Devi Maa, my goal is to capture that specific emotion so the sketch feels alive.
My Process & Materials
I focus on high-contrast shading using a mix of graphite for precision and charcoal for depth. While these sketches are primarily black and white, I often add a pop of color—like a red bindi or a yellow dhoti—to highlight the essence of the deity. Depending on the size, I use heavyweight 200–300 GSM Bristol Board, which holds the layers of shading well without warping.
How I Ensure Quality
Once the drawing is done, I protect it with a professional fixative. I don't just put it in an envelope; I pack it flat between rigid industrial hardboards and wrap it in butter paper to make sure it arrives in perfect condition. It is a simple process, but I put my heart into every step.
If you have a specific pose in mind or a memory you want to turn into a sketch, just share a photo or your idea. I will do my best to bring that vision to paper. Bas.
