Realistic Ganesha Pencil Sketches and Charcoal Art
Bringing the divine form of Ganesha to paper through hyper-realistic shading and subtle color accents. 🙏
This video shows my process of drawing Lord Ganesha in his traditional, mighty form. You can see how I use pencil to build layers of shading for a realistic, three-dimensional effect, from the texture of his skin to the folds of his dhoti.
Here is my drawing of Bal Ganesha, capturing his innocent and gentle nature. I used pencil for the shading and added soft color to his dhoti and the ladoo in his hand, bringing a warm and playful feel to the sketch.
A slightly different angle of the Bal Ganesha sketch. This view provides a closer look at the delicate shading on his face and the colored details on his golden necklace.
About Ganesha: Mighty & Playful
My Ganesha sketches are all about the details that make the form feel alive. I use deep charcoal shading to give ornaments 3D depth, while adding small, deliberate pops of color on elements like the tilak or his dhoti to catch the eye. It is simple, but every stroke of my pencil has my full focus. Bas.
When I start a Ganesha portrait, my goal is to bring the divine essence onto paper. Whether you want the mighty form or Bal Ganesha, I work to capture that specific emotion in his eyes.
I use heavy, 200-300 GSM artist paper, which prevents yellowing and lets me layer graphite without tearing. For the 'Mighty' sketches, I spend hours on the anatomy and ornament details to ensure the drawing has real weight. For 'Bal Ganesha,' I soften the lines to bring out his innocence.
Once the sketch is complete, I spray it with a professional matte fixative. This protects the charcoal from smudging and stops it from reflecting light. You get the original, unframed drawing packed flat between hardboards to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition, along with a high-resolution digital scan.
If you have a specific pose in mind, or want a custom composition, share your idea. I am comfortable working with photo references to get the proportions and expression just right. My art is simple, pure, and done with devotion. Radhe Radhe.
