How Your Rakhi Is Made
I work from my home studio in Kothrud, Pune, turning ideas into tangible crafts. My hand-painted MDF rakhis are cut from 3mm to 4mm engineered wood, ensuring they are sturdy yet lightweight. Each piece is hand-painted with acrylics and sealed with a matte or gloss varnish to prevent chipping. They are perfect for siblings who love a good laugh, featuring phrases like 'Jugaadu', 'Partner in Crime', or specific nicknames.
More Than Just A Rakhi
Why limit festive joy to one day? I build my rakhis as bracelets that look great on any wrist, all year round.
- Beaded Styles: I use glass crackle beads, seed beads, and durable nylon wire for a classic, bohemian look. You can get these personalized with alphabet cubes to spell out names or initials.
- Silver-Tone & Bohemian: I mix antique silver-finish alloy charms with cotton dori or colourful beads. These match well with casual Indian wear and denim alike.
- Hampers: I love putting together sets. You can combine a rakhi with a matching car hanging or a personalized keychain for a complete gift set.
Care & Customization
Since these are handcrafted, treat them with a little extra care. Keep them away from heavy water exposure or direct contact with perfumes to maintain the finish.
