About Newborn Portraits: The First Few Days
I build 3 to 4 hours into every newborn session, not because the shooting takes that long, but because your baby dictates the pace. We prioritize plenty of time for feeding and soothing, ensuring we only move to the next prop or theme when your little one is calm and sleeping soundly.
My approach to newborn photography is entirely centered on safety and comfort. Whether we are shooting in my Mumbai studio or at your home, the environment is kept cozy and controlled. I bring a full range of sanitized props—from vintage wooden beds and wicker baskets to soft flokati rugs and premium stretch wraps—so you do not need to worry about the logistics of posing a newborn.
Popular Themes and Styling
I offer a variety of creative setups to bring out your baby's personality, even in those first few weeks. The 'little scholar' theme with tiny glasses and books, and the 'bumblebee' setup with sunflowers, are favorites for parents looking for something unique. If you prefer a minimal, timeless look, we can focus on clean, classic swaddles in neutral tones.
Involving the Family
Your baby is the star, but I encourage parents and siblings to jump in as well. Every newborn package includes dedicated time for family portraits. It is a wonderful way to document the connection in your home during those quiet, early days.
Essential Preparation
- Timing: Ideally, book your session before your baby arrives. The best window for those sleepy, curled-up poses is within the first 0 to 45 days.
- Feeding: Be prepared to feed on-demand during the session. These breaks are a vital part of the schedule.
- Props: All costumes, knits, rompers, and background fabrics are provided from my studio collection.
