About Historic Ruins & Royal Poses
Shooting in ruins sounds romantic, but the ground is often uneven and the lighting changes quickly. I usually recommend we plan your outfit based on the stone texture so you do not blend into the background. If you want that regal look, we can spend the first hour on posed portraits while the light is soft, then switch to candids as we explore the deeper, more rugged corners of the site.
When we shoot at places like Daman or the historic forts around Mumbai, the stone walls do half the work for us. The texture of old granite or mossy brick adds a weight to your photos that a studio simply cannot recreate.
The Royal Look vs The Real Look
Many couples come to me asking for a royal vibe, but I always tell them the same thing: it is not about the crown you wear, but how you stand. We balance formal, regal portraits with moments where you are just laughing at a joke or holding hands while walking through an archway. I want those photos where you look like a queen, but also the ones where you look like your fun, chaotic self.
Practical Tips for Historic Shoots
- Comfort is Key: You will be walking on uneven stone floors. Bring a pair of comfy slippers for between shots.
- Outfit Coordination: Avoid overly busy patterns. A solid red or deep green saree, like you see in our gallery, pops beautifully against neutral, grey, or brown stone ruins.
- Golden Hour: We aim to start before the sun hits its peak or just before it sets. The way the light filters through ancient arches creates a depth that mid-day sun just kills.
Whether it is the vast history of Vasai Fort or the rugged, seaside charm of Daman, these locations offer a sense of grandeur that lasts. If you have a specific historic spot in mind, let me know. We love exploring new ruins.
CamLens Films
I am Kamlesh, and I started CamLens Films because I got tired of the same fake, stiff poses you see everywhere. I am the guy who will tease you to get a real laugh, or tell you to stop posing if you look uncomfortable. For me, these shoots are about the love and energy between you two, not just the background.
