Sensory and Messy Play Classes for Toddlers
Explore textures, colors, and the pure joy of making a mess. Our sensory art sessions for children aged 3.5 to 5 provide a pressure-free space where playdough, finger painting, and mosaic art help build fine motor skills and creative confidence.
The excitement of showing off your creation is the best part of class! These colorful paper fish were made by layering shapes, a great exercise in planning and coordination for our 3.5 to 5-year-old artists.
This vibrant garden scene was made entirely with playdough. Working with clay this way allows children to explore 3D concepts and strengthen the small muscles in their hands, all while creating a beautiful story.
A snapshot of our studio during a vegetable printing session. You can see the focus and engagement as each child uses natural materials to create patterns. This is what happy, hands-on learning looks like.
Our sensory art and craft classes are all about exploration. This video shows our youngest students, aged 3.5 to 5, experimenting with different painting tools and colors, discovering cause and effect in a playful way.
A glimpse into our bustling sensory art class. We create a calm yet stimulating environment where children feel comfortable exploring different materials at their own pace, with instructors nearby to offer support.
Paper mosaic art is a fantastic activity for developing pincer grasp and patience. Here, our little explorers are carefully placing small pieces of paper to create a larger picture, learning about composition and color along the way.
Look at this proud group holding up their custom-designed tote bags! They used vegetable printing to create these beautiful floral patterns, turning a simple bag into a piece of wearable art.
About this collection
We prioritize sensory exploration over perfection, using non-toxic playdough, finger paints, and collage materials to help children aged 3.5 to 5 strengthen their fine motor skills. Our classroom in HSR Layout is designed to be a calm, supportive environment, making it an ideal space for children who are neurodiverse or simply need a safe, pressure-free outlet to express their feelings.
Why Sensory Play Matters
For children in the 3.5 to 5 age bracket, the world is primarily understood through their senses. Our classes move beyond simple drawing by introducing tactile mediums like modeling clay, slime, and vegetable printing. These activities are carefully chosen to improve pincer grasp, hand-eye coordination, and bilateral coordination, which are essential precursors to writing and daily tasks.
Our Approach to Inclusivity
We understand that some children experience the world differently. Whether your child has ADHD, dyslexia, or simply feels overwhelmed in loud, busy environments, our studio is structured to accommodate their needs. We maintain small batch sizes of 4 to 6 students to ensure that every child receives the individual attention required to feel comfortable.
The Curriculum
- Tactile Exploration: We use non-toxic playdough and clay to build finger strength and allow for 3D exploration.
- Fine Motor Drills: Activities like tearing paper for mosaics and threading beads are integrated into fun projects to build focus and patience.
- Process-Oriented Art: We emphasize the experience of painting with veggies or squishing clay, removing the stress of finishing a 'perfect' product. This boosts self-esteem and encourages risk-taking in creative expression.
Our goal is to provide a place where your child feels seen and heard. By focusing on the process rather than the outcome, we help children build the confidence they need to tackle challenges both inside and outside the studio.
BrainArt Studio
I started BrainArt because I know that for some children, art is more than a hobby; it is a way to process the world. In my studio, we create a sensory-friendly, inclusive space where children can explore, get messy, and simply be themselves while developing the skills they need to grow.
