We ride hard, but we ride smart. Safety is the foundation of our brotherhood, ensuring every rider makes it home to share the stories.

An introduction to who we are: Bangalore Malayali Riders. Our motto is simple: Grasp life by the handlebars.

Established in 2017, we are a community of over 570 diverse individuals bound by a passion for biking and a commitment to safety and brotherhood. Our motto: Discover new perspectives, create new bonds.

Our vision is to grow into a robust community of 1000 members, while our mission is to foster road safety awareness through workshops and campaigns. We believe in giving back to society.

BMR Moto Tips: Stay Visible. We emphasize wearing brightly colored or reflective clothing and using your lights effectively to ensure other motorists can see you clearly.

Your safety is our priority. Here are 8 motorcycle safety tips every rider in our community should know and practice on every single ride.

BMR Moto Tips: Ride Within Your Limits. It's crucial to know your skill level and ride at a comfortable pace. Don't push yourself beyond your capabilities.

BMR Moto Tips: Wear Protective Gear. We insist that all our riders wear a helmet that meets safety standards, along with a proper jacket, pants, gloves, and boots.

BMR Moto Tips: Perform Regular Maintenance. A well maintained bike is a safe bike. We encourage regular checks of tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels.

BMR Moto Tips: Be Aware of Blind Spots. Motorcycles can easily disappear in the blind spots of larger vehicles. We train our riders to be cautious when changing lanes.

Rainy Season Maintenance Tip 1: Tires. Your tires are your only contact with the road. Proper tread depth and pressure are crucial for preventing skids in wet conditions.

About Our Ethos & Rider Safety

People often call us 'manarogikal' (crazy folks) for our obsession with hitting the road, but behind every epic ride is a strict, non-negotiable safety protocol. We don't just ride; we manage convoys with designated leads, sweeps, and marshals. Whether you are joining us for a quick Sunday breakfast run or a complex Ladakh expedition, you are never riding alone. Our system ensures that every rider, regardless of experience level, is backed by someone looking out for them.

Our Philosophy: BMR Uyir

'Grasp Life by the Handlebars' isn't just a slogan for us. It is how we live. We started in 2017 with one Facebook post and have grown into a 500+ strong community, but our core hasn't changed. We believe in 'Puthiya kazhchakal kaanam, puthiya bandhangal srushtikkam' (seeing new sights, making new bonds).

The BMR Way of Riding

We treat every ride as a serious commitment to one another. Being part of our convoy means:

  • Lead & Sweep System: You will never be left behind. Our lead riders set the pace, and our sweepers ensure the group stays together.
  • Signal Training: We use standardized hand signals. If you are new, we teach you these before you hit the highway.
  • Responsibility: We have zero tolerance for reckless behavior. Speeding might give you a rush, but it risks the family. We ride for the journey, not the speedometer.

Practical Safety Tips

Our community shares knowledge constantly. Here is what we prioritize:

  • Be Seen: Always use high-visibility gear. Your motorcycle lights are there to be seen, not just to light the road.
  • Know Your Limits: Never push beyond your skill set. If you are tired, take a break. We will wait.
  • Maintenance Matters: A neglected bike is a danger to the whole pack. Keep your tires, brakes, and chain in top shape—especially during the monsoon season.
  • Blind Spots: Never assume a truck driver sees you. Stay out of blind spots and always signal your intentions clearly.

Safety isn't about restricting fun; it is about extending the ride. When you ride with BMR, you ride with brothers who have your back.
