Outdoor Living Spaces Design
I build structures that turn an empty yard into a place you actually use. From poolside gazebos to shaded pergolas, these are outdoor rooms designed to last.
A modern poolside gazebo I designed and built, featuring a sunken seating area. The structure is integrated with planters containing tall grasses and a small tree on a berm, blending architecture with the landscape.
Another view of the sunken poolside lounge, showing the comfortable cushioned seating and the backdrop of tall Traveler's Palms (Strelitzia nicolai) that provide a sense of enclosure and a tropical feel.
This shot highlights the clean lines of the poolside seating area and the row of potted Traveler's Palms against the white boundary wall, creating a modern and elegant outdoor room.
A close-up of the gazebo's interior, showing the built-in seating and the frosted glass roof panels that provide shade while keeping the space bright. The design is both practical and stylish.
A classic white gazebo serves as the focal point in this community park. I surrounded it with colorful bromeliad beds and stone edging to create a welcoming public seating area.
The combination of fiery bromeliads and green lily turf creates a vibrant, textured border around the park gazebo, showcasing how I use mass plantings for high-impact color.
A direct view of the gazebo and its surrounding flower beds. The structure is decorated for an event, showing how these spaces become central to community life.
A view down a paved path leading to the park gazebo, framed by mature trees. This demonstrates how I design sightlines to draw people through a landscape.
This video shows a Thunbergia coccinea, or Scarlet Clock Vine, I trained over a pergola. The hanging red flowers create a stunning natural curtain, turning a simple structure into a living feature.
An indoor-outdoor lounge area featuring artificial turf flooring and a backlit "Tree of Life" metal art piece. This shows how I can create green spaces even in covered or unconventional areas.
About Outdoor Living Spaces
When you add a pergola or gazebo, the biggest challenge is not the design, but the sun and monsoon rains. I use treated mild steel frames with anti-rust coatings and frosted roof panels that block the glare without killing the light, so you have a dry, cool space even in the middle of a downpour.
Most people ask for a wooden pergola, but in Bangalore humidity, wood rots within two seasons. That is why I stick to high-grade steel structures finished with weather-resistant paint. Whether it is a sunken poolside seating area or a quiet corner in a park, the goal is always the same: create a structure that functions as an actual room.
I pair these hard structures with carefully selected plants—Traveler's Palms for privacy, Bromeliads for color, and durable creepers that climb without damaging the frame. I do not just place pots. I design the irrigation and the lighting to ensure the space remains functional at night and manageable during the day. If you want a space that looks like a stock photo for a week, you might want to look elsewhere. If you want a space that stays solid and vibrant for years, that is what I do.
Bloom In Green
I treat a backyard like a construction site, not a decorative project. I run my own nursery, which means I know exactly which plants will thrive against the structural steel of a gazebo and which ones will wither. I show up, I clear the space, and I build it to survive the elements.
