Featured Bird Photography and Wildlife Portraits in Delhi
A selected collection of high-resolution bird portraits captured across Delhi and the NCR. Each image reflects my commitment to ethical wildlife photography and technical precision using Canon professional equipment.
A stunning close-up of a male Plum-headed Parakeet, its rainbow-colored head a vibrant mix of pink, purple, and blue. This high-resolution portrait captures the fine texture of its feathers and the intense focus in its eye as it enjoys a piece of fruit.
The magnificent Khalij Pheasant in a detailed portrait. The image highlights its striking red facial skin, elegant white crest, and the intricate pattern of its deep blue and grey plumage, showcasing the regal beauty of this gamebird.
A powerful portrait of a Brahminy Kite against a brilliant blue sky. This shot captures the intense gaze, sharp hooked beak, and the clean contrast between its white head and rich reddish-brown body, embodying the majesty of a bird of prey.
An elegant Red-billed Blue Magpie perched on a thick, textured branch. This full-body shot displays its striking blue wings, black head, and impressively long, trailing tail, capturing the bird's graceful posture in its natural environment.
A remarkable action shot of a Gray-headed Warbler with a full beak. This macro-level photograph reveals not just the caterpillar it has caught, but also a tiny spider, demonstrating the complex food chain and the bird's successful hunt.
The iconic Common Kingfisher, captured in brilliant natural light. The iridescent blue on its head and back contrasts beautifully with its warm orange underbelly, while the extreme detail shows the fine texture of its feathers and powerful beak.
An Orange-headed Thrush caught in a dynamic moment of wing-flapping. The motion blur of the wings contrasts with the sharp focus on its head and body, conveying a sense of energy and life as it prepares for flight or settles on its perch.
A Gray Treepie pauses at the edge of a water body, its perfect reflection captured in the still, golden-hued water. This composition showcases not only the bird but also its interaction with the serene environment, creating a balanced and artistic wildlife photograph.
A Brown-fronted Woodpecker takes a moment to bathe in a shallow pool. The image captures the water droplets and wet feathers in exquisite detail, reflecting the surrounding forest colors and offering a rare glimpse into the bird's personal grooming behavior.
A charming interaction between two Green Bee-eaters perched together on a single branch. This shot captures a moment of connection, showcasing their slender bodies, vibrant green plumage, and the delicate, elongated central tail feathers characteristic of the species.
About Featured
These images are processed from 45MP Canon R5 RAW files, maintaining full detail in feather textures and eye catchlights. Whether you require a digital license for editorial use or a museum-grade Giclée print for a specific space, the output is kept sharp and accurate to the original moment of capture.
This gallery represents my most consistent work across Delhi and the NCR. By using the Canon R5 with an RF 100-500mm lens, I am able to capture subjects like the Common Kingfisher or the Red-billed Blue Magpie from a distance, ensuring I do not disrupt their natural behavior. There is no baiting, no artificial light, and no heavy manipulation.
Technical Standards for Prints and Licensing
Every photograph here is available for two primary purposes:
- Digital Licensing: I provide high-resolution JPEGs (3000px+ on the long edge) processed for noise reduction and clarity. This is suitable for editorial, web, or private digital display.
- Fine Art Printing: For physical display, I use 12-pigment archival inks on heavyweight 300+ GSM cotton rag paper (Hahnemühle or Canson Infinity). These prints are designed for color stability over 100+ years. I offer framed options with UV-protective glazing and solid wood mounting to ensure the piece arrives ready for installation.
Ethical Wildlife Documentation
My workflow is built on patience. By shooting in the early mornings and evenings, I utilize natural light to define the colors and textures of species like the Plum-headed Parakeet and Green Bee-eaters. The goal is to provide a truthful record of urban birdlife, not an embellished one. If you have a specific species in mind or need a certain aspect ratio for a print, reach out directly to discuss the available source files.
