Authentic, unscripted moments of local birdlife captured in the wild. No staging, no interference, just raw instinct and natural movement.

A Crested Kingfisher with a freshly caught fish held firmly in its beak. The incredible detail shows the scales of the fish and the water droplets on the kingfisher's speckled feathers, a successful moment frozen in time.

A Common Tailorbird stands proudly on a green railing with its catch. This candid shot captures the bird with a large insect in its beak, showcasing its role as a predator in the local ecosystem.

An Indian Cormorant captured mid-flight against a soft green background. Its wings are fully spread, revealing the texture and iridescence of its dark feathers as it carries a twig, likely for nest-building.

A Striated Babbler is captured with its wings spread wide in a moment of beautiful motion. The soft, warm light illuminates the intricate patterns on its wings and body as it navigates through reeds.

An Ashy Prinia takes flight, its wings beautifully spread to reveal their structure and coloration. This action shot freezes the bird's upward movement, highlighting its agility and the delicate nature of its flight.

A close-up of a Himalayan Bulbul with an insect kill. The shot provides a detailed view of its pointed crest and the captured prey, offering a raw and fascinating look at its feeding habits.

A Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch clings to the side of a tree hole, a piece of food held in its beak. This image perfectly illustrates the bird's unique ability to climb down trees head-first, a behavior characteristic of nuthatches.

A Chestnut-tailed Starling bathes in a shallow pool of water, its feathers soaked and glistening. The reflection in the water and the droplets in the air create a dynamic scene of a common bird's daily ritual.

A close-up of a male Khalij Pheasant foraging on a log. The focus is on its head as it pecks at food, highlighting the brilliant red wattle and the fine details of its plumage against the dark green forest background.

A White-breasted Kingfisher perched on a branch with a small insect in its beak. The vibrant colors of the bird and the clear view of its meal provide a classic example of avian foraging behavior.

About Birds in Action

Getting these shots is not about luck. I sit for hours at specific locations across Delhi, waiting for the precise second a kingfisher dives or a babbler takes flight. Because I use a Canon R5 with a 100-500mm lens, I can track this speed from a distance without disturbing the bird's natural behavior.
