I always teach my students how to invest wisely in their makeup kit. This is me explaining which products are versatile and worth the money, like a bronzer and highlighter palette that works on all skin tones.
A common mistake is applying a light foundation shade directly to make someone look fairer. I teach the correct, buildable technique: neutralize the skin tone first with a darker shade, then apply the right foundation color to avoid an ashy or unnatural finish.
Building a professional makeup vanity is about choosing smart, multi-use products. I show my students how to select palettes that are versatile enough for fair, medium, and dark skin tones, saving them money and space in their kit.
There is a huge difference between applying foundation and caking it on. I teach the technique of applying foundation only where needed, typically in the highlighting areas of the face, and then blending it out for a natural, skin-like finish.
One pump or one kilogram of foundation? Less is always more. With proper skin prep, a single pump of foundation is often more than enough. I teach my students to build coverage slowly rather than applying too much at once.
The solution to cakey makeup is simple: a damp beauty blender. I explain to my students why using a damp sponge is crucial for blending creamy products seamlessly into the skin for a non-cakey finish.
