About Themed & Sundowner Parties
People think a sundowner is just background music, but it is a specific science. I map the energy based on the sun's position. We start with organic or afro house while the light is soft, then transition to melodic techno as the mood shifts. For themed nights, I don't just rely on costumes. I align the BPM and sound design with the venue’s aesthetic so the music feels like part of the decor.
It is all about the details. For a ‘Bikinis & Bellinis’ or a ‘Halloween’ night, the vibe is totally different. I look at the brand identity, the crowd, and the venue decor to pick the genre. If it is a neon night, I go hard with tech house. If it is a chic launch, we keep it sophisticated with jazz or deep house.
A proper sundowner is a 5-hour transition. It is not just hitting play. We manage the tempo carefully. You want that relaxed, groove-heavy start that keeps people nodding their heads, moving into an upbeat, melodic finish that hits just as the lights come on.
